About Us

Our services are provided independently through Hope Byus Coaching, LLC. While Paul & Tahirah often serve in ministry through churches and FamilyLife events, they do so as volunteers, not as representatives or employees of those organizations.

Who We Are

With backgrounds in business and education respectively, we, have a keen understanding on the importance of a balanced work and family life. We have been together for over eleven years, married five years, and yet have over 39 years of marriage collectively. We have experienced both good and bad in marriage. As a blended family, we also know the complexities of living harmoniously given the challenges around molding two dynamic families into one.

We are certified marriage and professional coaches. Our certification as marriage coaches comes from the Married for a Purpose Organization, and our certification as professional coaches comes from CLCI, an organization that is accredited with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

We are certified as SYMBIS and Prepare Enrich assessment coaches. We also facilitate The Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis®(T-JTA®), which is a widely used personality assessment for individual, pre-marital, marital and family configurations.

We are members of social, and community service organizations where we donate our time, talents and treasure. Paul has been a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. since 1986. He was initiated at The American University Chapter which is identified as the Kappa Chi of Kappa Alpha Psi. Tahirah became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. by way of the Epsilon Nu Chapter while at Sonoma State University in 1990. We have, and continue to  participate in community service and community action programs.

We serve as volunteer affiliate reps, and Group Coordinators in the National Capital Region for the FamilyLife Weekend To Remember weekend getaway.

We are involved in our church ministry as small group study co-facilitators. We lead both in-person and virtual small group studies. We often serve in church settings, and as part of the FamilyLife Weekend to Remember volunteer team.

Our experience in servant leadership roles includes mentoring, non-profit board service and volunteer roles in community-based organizations. The result is that we understand the importance of aligning the mind, body, and spirit. Holistic wellness, healthy habits, and impact they have on our purposeful alignment is our priority for the glory of God.

It is important to know that, as your coach, instead of simply telling you what to do, we will find out together what you need to do in order for you to achieve your goals and (re)gain your sense of purpose, motivation, direction, and satisfaction. In this capacity, we are your thinking partners and guides.
